Boise State Meistersingers
“Face the Darkness”
A choral program that confronts darkness with courage and clarity. At its heart is Monteverdi’s mournful Sestina (Lagrime d’amante al sepolcro dell-amata)—a Renaissance masterwork.
The concert also features works by Mahler, Part, Esenvalds, Hawes, Ramsey, and Guillaume. These pieces delve into the struggle between light and darkness, expressing lament, the fight aginst evil, the longing for protection, and the persistence of hope in the face of darkness.
Sonous, Eagle High School’s advance mixed ensemble, will join the Meistersingers

This concert will feature evening-inspired works by Eric Whitacre, Orlando Lasso, Jonathan Dove, and Benjamin Britten; as well as day-themed works by Thomas Tallis, Morten Lauridsen, Harry T Burleigh, and Dolly Parton.
